BEIRUT, Lebanon – Security officials says a Lebanese journalist has been killed by gunfire along the Lebanese-Syrian border.
The officials say Ali Shaaban, who works as a cameraman for Al Jadeed TV station, was shot Monday as he was filming in the northern Wadi Khaled area on the Lebanese side of the border. The gunfire apparently came from the Syrian side of the frontier.

The officials say Shaaban was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.

They spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
