Syrian Ambassador Reports Explosion in Aleppo

Syria’s U.N. ambassador says there was an explosion in Aleppo at the same time as the suicide bombings in Damascus.

Ambassador Bashar Ja’afari said the explosion Thursday morning in Syria’s second city “led also to … civilian victims and massive damages to private property.” He gave no further details.

He told a U.N. Security Council meeting on counter-terrorism efforts that the two bombings in Damascus “took the lives of 56 innocent individuals and injured 372 others, who received grave injuries, in addition to the remains of 50 individuals who still have not been identified.”
