Photos Capture Devastation After Mass Killings In Tremseh

On July 12, Syrian security forces launched a devastating assault on the village of Tremseh in Syria’s Hama province. According to activists, tanks and helicopter gunships pounded the small town before it was attacked by pro-regime militiamen. More than 220 people were reportedly killed in the massacre.

New photos taken a day after the massacre show the desperation among survivors in the town. Villagers point at traces of shells and tanks, blood-stained walls and burnt-out cars.

“Every family in the town seems to have members killed. We have names of men, women and children from countless families,” Fadi Sameh, activist from Tremseh, told Reuters.
